This product is a white crystalline or crystalline powder (orange-red for feed additive grade); almost odorless; slightly bitter taste; discolors upon exposure to light; highly hygroscopic; it is easily soluble in water and anhydrous ethanol; the aqueous solution exhibits an acidic reaction.
Acetohydroxamic acid, also known as acetic hydroxamic acid, is used in the feed industry as a rumen microbial urease inhibitor for ruminant feed additives. Additionally, in the pharmaceutical field, it serves as a competitive urease inhibitor under the trade name Junshitong. In the metallurgical industry, it is employed as a chelating agent and extractant for the extraction and identification of metal ions.
