Details of Hydraulic Cylinder Installation

1. Clean the hydraulic cylinder and surrounding environment. The oil tank should be tightly sealed. Pipes and oil tanks should be cleaned to prevent other scale and debris. Special paper should be used for cleaning; hemp thread and adhesive must not be used as sealing materials. Hydraulic oil should be designed according to requirements, and attention should be paid to the temperature and changes of the hydraulic oil.

2. When disassembling the hydraulic cylinder, be careful not to damage the threads at the top of the piston rod, the threads at the cylinder port, or the surface of the piston rod. Do not strike the cylinder barrel or piston surface with a hammer. If the cylinder bore or piston surface is damaged, do not use sandpaper for polishing; instead, use a fine oilstone for careful grinding.

3. Before installing the hydraulic cylinder into the system, compare the parameters on the hydraulic cylinder’s nameplate with those specified at the time of ordering.

4. The base of the hydraulic cylinder must have sufficient rigidity; otherwise, the cylinder barrel may arch upward when pressurized, which can contribute to bending of the piston rod.

5. Pipe connections must not be loose.

6. When installing the sealing gland screws of the hydraulic cylinder body, the tightening degree should ensure that the piston moves smoothly throughout the entire stroke without sticking or uneven weight. Overtightening the screws will increase resistance and accelerate wear; too loose will cause oil leakage.
