Proper installation of polycarbonate sheets ensures optimal performance.
1. Before installation, check the expansion allowance to ensure the reserved expansion gap is uniform and reasonable. For data on expansion gaps, consult Henan Yongxin Plate Industry, and confirm that the sheet dimensions meet specifications.
2. When fixing polycarbonate sheets and accessories, first peel off 30mm to 50mm of the protective film to prevent the film from being compressed by the mounting strips. Note that excessive removal of the protective film should be avoided, as it may scratch the sheets during installation.
3. The side with UV protection should face outward during installation; do not install it incorrectly.
4. After installing the accessories, avoid over-tightening the self-tapping screws.
5. When drilling holes for screws, allow appropriate gaps to account for thermal expansion and contraction.
6. Use specialized equipment to handle polycarbonate sheets during installation.

.Polycarbonate Sheet Product Features:

(1) Light Transmittance: PC sheets can achieve up to 89% light transmittance, comparable to glass. UV-coated sheets resist yellowing, fogging, and reduced transparency under sun exposure. After ten years, light transmittance loss is about 10%, compared to 15–20% for PVC and 12–20% for fiberglass.
(2) Impact Resistance: Impact strength is 250–300 times that of ordinary glass, 30 times that of acrylic sheets of the same thickness, and 2–20 times that of tempered glass. Known as "unbreakable glass" and "resonant steel."
(3) UV Protection: One side of the PC sheet is co-extruded with a UV-resistant coating, while the other side has anti-condensation treatment, combining UV resistance, thermal insulation, and anti-fogging functions. It blocks UV rays, making it ideal for protecting valuable artworks and exhibits from UV damage.
(4) Lightweight: About half the weight of glass, reducing transportation, handling, installation, and support frame costs.
(5) Flame Retardant: Certified as B1 grade according to standard GB50222—95, PC sheets are self-extinguishing with an ignition point of 580°C. They do not produce toxic gases when burning and do not contribute to fire spread.
(6) Bendability: Can be cold-bent on-site according to design plans to form arches, semi-circular roofs, and windows. The minimum bending radius is about 175 times the sheet thickness, and it can also be heat-bent.
(7) Sound Insulation: PC sheets provide significant sound insulation, outperforming glass and acrylic sheets of the same thickness. Under identical conditions, PC sheets improve sound insulation by 5–9 dB, making them ideal for highway sound barriers.
(8) Energy Efficiency: Cool in summer and warm in winter, PC sheets have a lower thermal conductivity (K-value) than ordinary glass and other plastics. Thermal insulation is 7–25% higher than that of glass, with up to 49% insulation efficiency, greatly reducing heat loss in heated buildings.
(9) Temperature Adaptability: PC sheets remain stable without becoming brittle at -40°C and do not deform at 125°C. Their mechanical properties show no significant changes in harsh environments.
(10) Weather Resistance: PC sheets maintain stable physical properties within -40°C to 120°C. After 4000 hours of artificial aging tests, yellowing is rated at 2, and light transmittance loss is about 0.6%.
(11) Anti-Condensation: At an outdoor temperature of 0°C and indoor temperature of 23°C with relative humidity below 80%, the inner surface of the material does not condense. Condensation flows along the sheet surface without dripping.
