Microwave heating and drying is a penetrating internal heating method. Electromagnetic energy directly acts on the molecules of the medium, converting it into heat. The penetrating nature allows both the interior and exterior of the material to be heated simultaneously without the need for heat conduction. The lack of heat dissipation conditions inside results in a temperature gradient where the interior is hotter than the exterior, creating a pressure difference that drives internal heat or moisture to permeate to the surface. In contrast, conventional heating methods rely on radiation, convection, or other external-to-internal heat conduction processes, which are energy-intensive, inefficient, and time-consuming. They are prone to clumping, require regular furnace cleaning, shutdowns for maintenance, and frequent replacement of components that are not resistant to high temperatures or corrosion.
