It is mainly used as: a catalyst in organic synthesis, petroleum cracking, dyes, rubber, detergents, pharmaceuticals, fragrances, pesticides, organic aluminum compounds, phthalocyanine series organic pigments, ethylbenzene, metal smelting, lubricants, etc. Food-grade aluminum trichloride is used as a leavening agent, a color stabilizer for sake and other products, and a flocculant for pectin. It is also used in analytical reagents, preservatives, mordants, etc.
