Two molecules of cyclohexylamine undergo dehydration and condensation under acidic catalysts (such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid) or solid acid catalysts to form dicyclohexylamine.

2. Reduction amination of cyclohexanone with ammonia/hydrogen gas

Cyclohexanone first reacts with ammonia to form imine, and then undergoes catalytic hydrogenation (such as Ni, Pd catalysts) to obtain cyclohexylamine, which further reacts to form dicyclohexylamine 10.

3. Preparation from Aniline Hydrogenation (Indirect Route)

Aniline is first hydrogenated to produce cyclohexylamine, and then subjected to the above coupling reaction to obtain dicyclohexylamine.
