Product Introduction:

Inorganic zinc silicate primer is a two-component inorganic zinc silicate shop primer composed of alkyl silicate, zinc, pigments, and additives.

Main Features:

· Fast drying, allowing handling and stacking in a very short time

· Excellent welding and cutting performance

· Outstanding heat resistance, the paint film can withstand high temperatures up to 400°C. Minimal burn-off during welding and cutting

· Excellent low-temperature curing performance

· Superior solvent resistance

· Excellent impact resistance, good abrasion resistance, and moderate flexibility

· Compatible with most paint systems

Applications:

Used as a shop primer for steel pretreatment lines in shipyards, heavy machinery factories, etc. Also suitable for offshore platforms, dock steel piles, mine steel supports, bridges, and large steel structures as a high-performance anti-rust paint.

Application Parameters

Mixing Ratio: Component A : Component B = 24 : 4 (by weight)

Dry Film Thickness: 30μm

Drying Time (25°C): Surface dry ≤20min, Hard dry ≤1h

Production Line Drying Time ≤5min (steel preheated to 50°C, oven temperature 120°C)

Recommended Coats: Shop primer: 1 coat by spraying, dry film thickness 20μm

Compatible Topcoats

Can be used with chlorinated rubber, epoxy, epoxy coal tar, coal tar-based, polyurethane, and other paint systems.

Surface Treatment: Steel sandblasted to Sa2.5 grade, surface roughness 30~70μm

Application Conditions: Can be applied at temperatures from -20°C to 50°C

· When substrate temperature is too high (≥40°C), spraying must be used, but substrate temperature must not exceed 60°C.

· Substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point

· Relative humidity not exceeding 85%

Instructions for Use of Inorganic Zinc Silicate Shop Primer

1. Surface Preparation: Before application, treat the surface to meet adhesion standards. Steel surfaces should be sandblasted to remove rust and scale to Sa2.5 grade, remove residues, and treat oil stains with specialized agents. The surface must be oil-free, impurity-free, dry, and clean before painting.

2. Paint Mixing: Before application, mix the two components of the two-part inorganic zinc silicate shop primer in the correct ratio. Determine the amount of paint needed based on the area to be covered, then accurately measure the two components according to the specified ratio. First, add component one to the mixing container and stir to dissolve any sediment. Then add the appropriate amount of component two and continue stirring until uniform. Allow the mixture to mature at room temperature for 15 minutes before use.

3. Application: Application methods include spraying, brushing, and rolling. When spraying, ensure even coverage without missing spots. When brushing or rolling, apply an appropriate amount of paint to avoid sagging. Ensure good ventilation for proper drying and even application.
