Green Building Materials Product Certification Process?

(1) Preparation of Materials

Green building materials product tiered certification application materials. In addition to meeting general requirements, green building materials must also satisfy the corresponding evaluation standards for product indicators in resource, energy, environment, and quality attributes. Enterprises need to ensure that products meet relevant requirements based on the evaluation standards and submit the following application materials to the certification body:

Application form (should specify the applied green building materials product certification level);

Business licenses of the certification client, manufacturer, and production plant;

Proof of entrustment relationship between the certification client, manufacturer, and production plant (such as authorization letters, etc.);

OEM/ODM intellectual property relationship (if applicable);

Product process flowchart;

Organizational chart of the production plant;

Type inspection report demonstrating that the product quality level complies with the relevant standard requirements specified in the green building materials evaluation standards (issued by a testing institution with CMA qualification, valid for one year);

Directory of factory assurance capability-related management documents established by the production plant in accordance with the "General Rules for the Implementation of Green Building Materials Product Tiered Certification" and implementation rules;

List of key raw materials on record;

Other supporting documents meeting the general requirements specified in the green building materials evaluation standards (such as management system certification certificates, work safety standardization certificates, EPD and carbon footprint reports, etc.).

(2) Basic Process of Green Building Materials Product Certification

Green building materials product certification implements initial inspection + product sampling inspection + post-certification supervision.

The basic certification process includes:

Certification application;

Initial engineering inspection (including document technical review and on-site inspection);

Product sampling inspection;

Certification result evaluation and approval;

Post-certification supervision.

(3) Certification Timeline for Green Building Materials Products

Generally, it does not exceed 90 days from the date of formal acceptance. Certification unit division: divided according to the types specified in the green building materials evaluation standards; the same production enterprise and the same product, but with different production sites, shall be treated as different certification units; the detailed certification scope of each certification unit is defined in the certification certificate or annex.
