Main Applications

1. Coatings and Inks Industry

Film-forming Agent: In water-based coatings (such as latex paints and wood coatings), it can lower the Minimum Film-forming Temperature (MFT) of emulsion particles, promote particle fusion, reduce defects like film cracking and pinholes, while improving the gloss and water resistance of the film;

Solvent and Diluent: Used in solvent-based inks to adjust viscosity and improve pigment dispersion; it is particularly suitable for plastic film printing inks (good compatibility with polyolefins).

2. Cleaners and Detergents

Industrial Cleaners: As a solvent for metal surface cleaners, it can dissolve stubborn greases such as mineral oil and lubricating oil. Due to its good hydrophilicity, it is easily rinsed off by water, making it suitable for cleaning mechanical parts and electronic components;

Household Cleaners: Used as a co-solvent in glass cleaners and kitchen degreasers to enhance the dissolution of grease and oil stains, and its low volatility reduces odor irritation during use.

3. Textile and Leather Industry

Wetting Agent and Leveling Agent: In textile printing and dyeing, it reduces the surface tension of water to promote the uniform penetration of dyes into fibers, avoiding uneven dyeing;

Leather Treatment Agent: Used in leather finishing agents to improve the adhesion between the coating and the leather, while increasing the flexibility of the coating.

4. Other Fields

Cosmetics and Personal Care: Used as a humectant or solvent in skincare products and conditioners to help dissolve other ingredients and enhance skin compatibility;

Antifreeze and Brake Fluid: Utilizing its characteristics of a low freezing point (-48℃) and a high boiling point, it is used as an additive in antifreeze or to adjust viscosity in brake fluid;

Pharmaceutical Intermediates: Through derivatization reactions of hydroxyl groups (such as esterification and etherification), it is used to synthesize compounds with specific biological activities.
