Application Fields

Organic Synthesis Field: Used as a catalyst or reaction intermediate in amidation, esterification, etherification, and other reactions. In particular, in the esterification of carboxylic acids and alcohols, it can promote reaction efficiency (although its catalytic activity is not as high as DMAP, it is easier to control in specific reactions).

Pharmaceutical and Agrochemical Intermediates: The pyridine ring and amino group in its structure are key fragments of many biologically active molecules. It can be used to synthesize precursors for antibacterial, antiviral, or antitumor drugs, and can also serve as an intermediate for pesticides (such as insecticides and fungicides).

Chemical Research: As a model molecule for nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds, it is used to study basic chemical issues such as the electronic effects and reaction mechanisms of amino groups and pyridine rings.
