Properties and Applications

PDM is a sulfur-free curing agent used for rubber cables. It can replace all sulfur-containing curing agents such as thiazoles and thiurams, solving the problem of copper wires and copper electrical appliances being contaminated and blackened by copper sulfide generated from contact with sulfur-containing curing agents...

Properties: Sulfur curing agent PDM is yellow or light brown powder, with a specific gravity of 1.44. It is soluble in tetrahydrofuran, but insoluble in petroleum ether, chloroform, benzene and water.
Applications: During rubber processing, PDM can be used not only as a curing agent and a co-curing agent for peroxide systems, but also as an anti-scorching agent and tackifier. In natural rubber, when used in combination with sulfur, it can prevent reversion, improve heat resistance, reduce heat build-up, enhance aging resistance, and increase the adhesion between rubber and cord and the modulus of vulcanizate. As an auxiliary curing agent, PDM can significantly improve related properties, enhance heat resistance, and is suitable for high-temperature curing systems. It can obviously reduce compression set, reduce the dosage of peroxides, prevent scorching of rubber compounds during processing, and improve the bonding strength between rubber compounds and cords and metals. As a sulfur-free curing agent for cable rubber, it can replace all sulfur-containing curing agents such as thiazoles and thiurams, solving the problem of copper wires and copper electrical appliances being contaminated and blackened by copper sulfide generated from contact with sulfur-containing curing agents. The dosage is 0.5-1.0 parts as an anti-scorching agent, 2-3 parts as a curing agent, 1.5 parts for improving compression set, and 0.5-5.0 parts for improving bonding strength. Storage: Store in a sealed, cool, dry and well-ventilated place. Avoid direct sunlight.
