Product Introduction

The Tapered Roller Bearing Shear Tester is an instrument used to determine the shear viscosity loss of crude oil. According to E L-45-A-99, the kinematic viscosity loss is studied, wherein a bearing cup with a tapered roller bearing is used to shear the test oil. This test method is widely applied.

The Tapered Roller Bearing Shear Tester complies with the E L-45-A-99 standard.

The load range is 500 to 5000 N, the rotational speed range is 150 to 1500 rpm, and the lubricant temperature range is from room temperature to 60°C.

Working Principle

Can be equipped with a manual or pneumatic loading system (refer to the image gallery section). The applied load is measured by a force sensor (located below the anti-friction bearing pad). The bearing cup is placed on the pad. The bearing cup contains a shear element, consisting of a tapered roller bearing immersed in the test fluid. The bearing is loaded by a rotating shaft driven by a motor.
