BS5852 Combustion Tester is designed and manufactured in accordance with the standard: GB17927.2-2011, simulating the ignition source of a match flame to test and evaluate the ignition resistance characteristics of upholstered furniture.

It also meets the requirements of the BS5852-2006 standard for 0# flame combustion (cigarette self-supplied) and 1#, 2#, 3# flames (butane gas self-supplied). Non-standardized equipment only meets the ignition source standard and cannot fulfill other requirements of the standard.

BS5852-2006_9.2 specifies the method and evaluation rules for testing the ignition resistance characteristics of upholstered furniture using a simulated match flame ignition source. The combustion tube, consisting of a stainless steel tube with an outer diameter of (8.0±0.1) mm, inner diameter of (6.5±0.1) mm, and length of (200±5) mm, should be connected via a flow meter with a flexible tube, fine control valve, switch valve (optional), and gas regulator, providing a nominal outlet pressure of 2.8 kPa to a butane gas source. The ignition height is adjustable from 400mm to 600mm, the ignition rod adopts a sliding rail forward propulsion mode, and the ignition control box uses 360° casters.

BS5852 Combustion Tester, the upholstered furniture simulated match flame combustion tester, is suitable for testing and evaluating the ignition resistance characteristics of upholstered furniture such as mattresses and sofas used in public places. The ignition resistance testing and evaluation of furniture soft components (components or parts made of elastic materials or other soft filling materials covered with textile fabrics, natural leather, artificial leather, etc.) can also be referenced.

Principle of the BS5852 Combustion Tester: It uses a simulated match flame as the ignition source to conduct ignition tests on upholstered furniture, aiming to determine the ignition resistance characteristics of the entire soft component of the sample, including the fabric, lining, and filling material.
