       The ceramic membrane ultrafiltration equipment + nanofiltration membrane concentration system for antibiotic fermentation broth is designed to address technical challenges in the antibiotic production process, such as insufficient impurity removal accuracy, low yield, and poor quality. Membrane separation technology, as an emerging, high-precision, and energy-efficient separation method, is applied to the filtration and concentration of antibiotic fermentation broth, significantly improving product yield and quality.

       For instance, the antibiotic content in fermentation processes typically ranges between 0.1-5%. Whether using resin separation or phase-change refining, the volume is relatively large, and direct concentration consumes high energy. Moreover, thermal concentration may lead to the decomposition of antibiotics due to heat. Based on the characteristics of antibiotic fermentation broth and the advantages of membrane separation technology, Jiahe Filtration has developed an integrated membrane separation process for the filtration and concentration of fermentation broth at room or low temperatures, greatly enhancing product yield and quality.


The application of the integrated membrane separation process for antibiotics is carried out in the following three aspects:

1. After pretreatment to reduce solids in the antibiotic fermentation broth, ceramic ultrafiltration membranes are used for impurity removal filtration, which improves the quality of the antibiotic filtrate and increases the recovery rate of antibiotics.

2. Nanofiltration membrane concentration treats the ultrafiltrate, enriching and increasing the antibiotic concentration while removing water and inorganic salts, significantly reducing the subsequent extraction volume and greatly decreasing the amount of extractant used.

3. After solvent extraction of antibiotics, solvent-resistant nanofiltration membranes are used to concentrate the extract, and the permeated extractant can be recycled.
